The Turf Network has been working day and night, developing the square in Árbær.

The idea for the square is introducing the concept of “urban farming” to the neighbors and the people passing by.

The new design creates landscape in the otherwhise flat area. As well as urban farming, the shape of the new elements introduce a complex of  benches, seats, grass planes and rails for the skaters. Three new hills create an amfi, but also serve as a stage for small scale performances.

By this, combined with beautiful surroundings and added vegetation, we hope to have succeeded in creating a place that serves as an option for outdoor recreation and a meeting place for people living in the neighborhood.
